You count your Facebook friends and compare yourself to others. If you were to found a town, with just your friends it would be a hamlet; others would found real cities.
You chat with your coworkers, and their stories always include friends who visited them, friends they visited, friends they spent their vacation with, and friends they went to a concert with. And their lives seem a little… hectic to you. But a wave of insecurity washes over you when others tell you how they got up at three in the morning to help their friends, or how, when they were in need, droves of friends rushed to their aid.
And you don’t understand how the people around you call each other friends, help one another, and spend hours on end together, only to then have a terrible fight—like two lovers who break up, only to be laughing together again the next day. For you, if you’ve had a fight with someone, you stay on bad terms.

In fact, you can’t even say that someone is your friend. You only have acquaintances, coworkers, and neighbors. And when you no longer share a workplace or a home address with them, they disappear from your life, whereas others—even without staying in constant touch with their middle school classmate—are still ready to set out in the middle of the night, to the ends of the earth, to help a friend.
And what surprises you the most are those who, although friends, seem to be extremely different in everything they do and in the way they think, and yet they love each other, support one another, and spend time together—while you, on the other hand, could only tolerate being around people who agree with your point of view and your value system.
It’s hard to have friends if you don’t open your heart enough to help and let yourself be helped, but what really defines friendship is the feeling that you and the other person are part of something greater. Some would say you have to be part of the same monad.
When you need money (or a book, or some information), the people around you think long and hard about whether to offer you help, while others get it right away from their friends, and no one hounds them to pay back the loan.

This has led to the paradoxical situation in which, beyond our moral criteria, spiritual entities—whether incarnate or non-incarnate, residing in higher or lower dimensions—are, in fact, intimately connected and, contrary to what one might expect, are ready to collaborate. Which is why, sometimes, rather than fear, we feel a sense of brotherhood toward entities that it is politically incorrect to even look at…
Even those who seem to be arguing, who have conflicting ideas—who, like in the movies, appear to be the cop and the criminal—actually share, beyond the immediate surface of things, a common set of values that you don’t perceive.
If two people are standing by a lake and one says there are fish there, while the other says there aren’t, perhaps they have nothing in common, and one will stay by the water’s edge while the other walks away. But if they both agree that the lake is full of fish, and one wants to catch them while the other wants to protect and feed them, then the back-and-forth—sometimes going on endlessly—as they try to convince one another how the fish should be treated can lead to a great friendship when the two appreciate and respect one another.

And you must share everything with your friends because you must evolve together with your friends—that is, with all the people on this planet—because that is how you honor and serve the purpose of the universe, which is to see us all evolve to the level of Fully Realized Sons of God!
Are you ready to understand someone with all their strengths and weaknesses? Are you ready to get up in the middle of the night to help them?
Do you have people with whom you can talk as if you’d only been apart for two hours, even though it’s been twenty years since you last saw each other?

ADVICE
Although you evolve on your own, the purpose of the universe is universal evolution, so—in the broader context of compassion and forgiveness—support everyone around you, reach out to them with all your friendship, and give your feelings, thoughts, and soul freely and without reserve, because it will all come back to you when you need it!
